Do not listen to those who say that the Bible is not the Word of God, or that it is not authoritative. Jesus and the Apostles appeal to the Old Testament scriptures, and then to the teachings of Jesus, and then to the teachings of the Apostles as the authoritative and final Word of God to man. the written word and the living word are indivisible. Jesus brought us a clear confirmation of all that was given through Moses and the Prophets. We now have the Apostles also confirming the Will of God for us in the Bible.
Where else can you find authority? Any claim to spiritual authority that appeals to something other than the Bible is giving you false doctrine and are using a false authority to hide their manipulation.
Over and over again, Jesus warned of false teachers that would come. Over and over again, the Apostles wrote to counter the false teachers of their day. The Holy Spirit has compiled this record for us, in anticipation of the age of deception that we have entered. So what Jesus are you listening to? Because if it’s not from the Bible, then it’s not the Son of God. Hear what Peter says: “we have the prophetic word made more sure…” (2 Peter 1:16-21) More sure than what? More sure than his own eyes, more reliable than his own experiences. Peter is saying to you: do not be deceived – trust the Word!!
This is the age of deception that the Apostles warned us would come. Don’t be deceived. Study and learn the Word of God. Find the presence of God in His word.
