Authentic Prophecy

Why is there skepticism about the authenticity of prophecies in religious texts like Isaiah, and what evidence do scholars use to support their views?

The bible makes it clear: the rebel heart of man stubbornly rejects God and refuses to believe. However:

If you take and just read the passage of Isaiah 52:13 to 53:12 with an open mind, and read Psalm 22 after it – you will get a clear picture of Jesus, spoken by the prophet over 600 years in advance of Jesus birth. It’s so unmistakable that many Jews who read it for the first time assume it was written by Christians – yet it’s undeniable and very provable that Isaiah was well established as a prophet even before the Greek translation of the OT Bible was made.

Also, we have the amazing case of Daniel 9. If you read the second half of that, it’s undeniable that Daniel wrote that the Messiah would arrive and be declared King of the Jews prior to the Temple and city of Jerusalem being destroyed; which happened in AD 70. In fact, the very day that prophesy of the King of the Jews was scheduled to be fulfilled, one man in particular rode into Jerusalem on a Donkey and was hailed (according to Psalm 118) by the crowds saying “Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”. That same prophecy of Daniel said the King would be executed, yet still see the light of life. How can that be? How can a man be executed, yet still have the light of life? Resurrection would be the only way that I can understand.

That man was then crucified on a Roman cross precisely on Passover a week later, and His disciples claim He rose from the dead on the feast of First Fruits. The prophetic alignments are uncanny. But people only see what they want to see. Some people can’t see the color of the sky.

It’s up to you to read and discern: is it true? If not, how in the world could someone contrive that?

If it is true: it’s the most important truth in the history of the world. Which means you have to do something about it. You either choose to ignore it – and risk missing the reality of it – or you go all in and follow Jesus with all of your heart.
