Unity of His Church

We want to look at the unity of the Body of Christ, His universal Church. It is vital to differentiate between essential and non-essential theological viewpoints in the Body of Christ. The core belief in Jesus Christ as Savior remains central to the Christian faith. The essential is not; “Do you believe that Jesus Christ existed/exists?”

The essential question is “Do you believe Jesus Christ is who the Bible says He is, and are you trusting Him as your Savior?” Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21), for which you deserve eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23)? While non-essential theological study differences sometimes exist between Christian denominations, they do not fundamentally affect one’s salvation, we propose, below. Conversation is welcome.

According to the New Testament gospel, forgiveness of sins and positive righteousness are provided by Christ and granted to the believer as a gift by Grace by your belief (faith). Regardless of the intricacies of other denominational doctrines, there are far too many Christians who operate under the assumption that, if they are good enough or try hard enough, God will accept them. Ultimately, this mistaken understanding removes Christ as Savior in favor of the individual attempting to save himself.

Do you desire this “so great salvation” (Hebrews 2:3)? Then all you have to do is receive it (John 1:12) by Grace through faith (Romans 5:1). God loves us and offers us salvation as a free gift (John 3:16). If we receive His grace, by faith, we have salvation as our eternal possession (Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9); once saved, nothing can separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:38-39). Nothing can remove us from the Lord’s hand (John 10:28-29). If you want this salvation, if you wish to have all your sins forgiven, if you desire to have assurance of salvation, if you want direct access to the God who loves you – simply receive it, and it is yours. This is the salvation that Jesus died to provide and that God offers as a gift.

Embracing diversity within biblical Christianity is a celebration of God’s creativity and the unique ways in which people express their faith is a good thing. The global nature of Christianity allows for a multitude of practices, languages, and expressions in worship of God in His universal Church. As long as we ensure that such doesn’t deny, add to or distort the clear revealed truths of the Bible. Contend not against the words of men but for The Word of the Lord. (Proverbs 13:10, Philippians 2:3, James 4:1-2)

The Word teaches that all believers are one in Christ, regardless of their station or ethnic background. Paul writes, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28 This is the unity of the universal Church of Christ.
