We are all stunned by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. How anyone could want to harm such a gentleman, a man who spoke patiently and faithfully, without malice or manipulation, is just beyond me. Like so many of you, our hearts are broken and emotions here are swirling with grief, loss, frustration and anger. Yes, we’re angry too.
We here at Mission 1711 want to honor Charlie – the way Charlie would want to be honored. So we’re calling on you – his fans and followers to hold firm to the legacy of faith, patience and bold convictions – the way Charlie would: without malice. Be angry, and do not sin. That’s what Charlie would tell you, if he was here to speak.
Charlie boldly faced evil with good. His life, now cut short, was filled with passion for the Lord, for truth, and for people to be redeemed from evil. He faithfully and courageously withstood insults, hostility, hate and fury from evil hearted people. He returned hate with hope. He returned hostility with kindness. Charlie was one of a kind, but we too, young and old, can learn and build from his example.
Charlie was, foremost, a bold believer and follower of Jesus. That was his strength. Charlie’s wisdom was from above, from the Father. Let’s each be bold in standing, as he did, for Jesus with the kind of bold faith, kindness, generosity, integrity, and peace that Charlie had.
Be careful not to succumb to the evil that our enemies have. Let us also not become the evil they accuse us of being. As it says in Romans 12:17 “Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.” and remember what God has told us from long ago:
Honor Charlie by loving Christ, honor Christ by doing what Charlie did. Live boldly, live faithfully, live with honor, patience, compassion, love and peace – and stand for truth every day. We must remember what the true fight is: a spiritual war. Our real enemy: principalities and powers in the spiritual realms. While our hurt, grief and natural anger will rage – we must not let the demonic entities behind this evil tide win by turning us into the very thing they accuse.
Charlie won! Charlie overcame. Live out his legacy being an overcomer. What they meant for evil, we can join the Lord Jesus by turning it into good. Stand firm in the faith. Live a bold witness for Jesus because they can ONLY kill the body – they cannot destroy the truth and they cannot take the heavenly inheritance we have in Christ.
As it says in Hebrews 10:30 God has told us “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay”.
The Lord Jesus bless you and keep you always in His love
