A history of the followers of Jesus and their impact on this world
“Therefore go and make disciples of all Nations.. (Matthew 28-19)”
This means we are specifically commissioned to “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life.” This was a founding principle of The Church. Not a specific denomination but Christ’s Church, His Bride. The entire community of believers.
Studying the actions, writings, plans and customs of the Church from its earliest gatherings through every discussion, disagreement and practice can help many to draw closer to God and to seek His perfect Word through the Bible. Especially by the ministry, teachings and sacrifice of The Word Made Flesh. Jesus the promised Messiah. Immanuel (God with us) is awesome to consider and behold through study of the Bible. Also through seeking discernment on the documented struggles, turmoils and victories of His Church throughout the history of this World.
This series will investigate, discuss and inform the audience of these amazing adventures through history. We will look at The Apostolic Church (those congregations founded and fostered by Jesus’ disciples), the early Church (the age of “Church Fathers”) and more. Through heresies, councils, evangelism, writings, philosophies (Christ centered) and reform movements within the Church.
Followers of Jesus have the most thoroughly attested and documented history of their true faith of any other “religion” in this World. We hope to engage you, challenge you, encourage you in this exploration. We do this in our poor effort to enthuse all to dig deeper into The Word and to understand its implications and impacts on cultures and civilizations throughout this World.
This is an incredible, fascinating and amazing adventure to draw closer to Him and to learn the origins and struggles of the Church. We hope and pray this will inspire others to seek Him and understand the communities of believers.
We will welcome suggestions, participation and partnership in this effort conducted by Mission 17:11
“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than the Jews of Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
